Holi – The festival of Colours

As I looked through the window, 

A group of boys walked down the street, its time to celebrate Holi,

All in shades of different colours that they played,

With faces unrecognizable, for some were masked with colours while some had a face-mask on.

Minutes later, I hear the music going on loud and they danced to the tune.

There came another group who danced out and played with bunches of flowers that marks No colors with water and a safe holi.

While the young ones loved the colours, the not so young wanted a safe holi.

No wonder both the groups danced to the tune of music.

I see the little kids playing with water on each other and moved a step here and there with the music.

No matter how we play or enjoy holi is a celebration of love, joy and happiness.

My Short Travel

That was a short travel

That made my day, a short spell of rains as I started

And then in no time, the sun gazed across.

The greens over the mountains, sparkling with the droplets

And as I passed by the bridge, on either side

Saw water flowing down the river, waves of blue.

The nature's beauty in the rainbow as I looked above.

My amazing short travel that was-A crush with nature!

She is a mother

She is a daughter

She is a wife

She is a sister

 

She has a role to play,

And she is efficient in whichever role she is in.

Because she knows it all.

She is the one at home as a mother

 

She is the one at home as a housewife

She is the one in the office as a professional 

No matter where her work is whether in the air-conditioned room or

the open field, she is there to give her best.

 

She is the first teacher to her children.

She is a woman with different roles in life.

Rakhi - The Bond of Love

Rakhi – The bond of love

The bond of sister and brother

That's true without a doubt.

The little childhood tantrums,

They fight the rivalry, playing with each other

However much one fights the fact that  

Caring for one another always comes first.

Those were the days when brother shares things like a

Stamp that he collects from his friend and gives to me.

Those were the days when a brother rides you on a cycle

To the theatre. Or rides one to watch the cricket match.

Although bicycles are replaced by bikes or cars, later on, 

The experience of the bicycle remains memorable.

Be it to the college or the university, the ride sitting behind gave the joy.

 

No matter the fights or the differences and arguments that may arise

It's always the fact that it's out of love and affection and concern for one another.

The bond becomes stronger with each rakhi that passes by. 

Rakhi symbolizes the love and affection for a brother by a sister,

A gift for the sister by the brother awaits the sisters no matter what it is. 

All that matters is the rakhi, a string of love!

The Sky is Blue

The sky is blue, so do we say.

I see the shades of sky Grey and dark grey,

With a blue spark amongst the clouds.

The showers of rain with a jolt of thunder and lightning,

Fades the shades of the sky as grey as it could be.

The fall of night, as it darkens all around,

Hidden behind the curtains to glance at the sky

Whither the fury of thunder, recedes the sound of raindrops.

Let the sky turn clear as it blues the next day.

Monsoon Pours

 

Monsoon pours, clouds overlapping the sky,

And the sun plays a hide and seek.

As I walk down, slowly across the road

with the umbrella, showers in short spells.

I stop down under the shade which has enough holes 

to let the droplets of water feel on my curly hair,

Taking me back to childhood when every child enjoys 

the showers of the rain. Jumping and thumping in the muds.

 

Thunder and lightning when accompanied are scary enough to hold oneself tight.

The sky goes dark with grey clouds that hide the sun.

And then they all sing rain go away, come again another day. 

We all want to go home, rain go away.

The Rainbow

 

The Rainbow

The incessant rains stopped, out comes the dazzling sun from the western side.

At about late in the afternoon as I peeked out of the window.

Saw suddenly a part of the sky is covered with dark clouds while

The other part shows a lighted sunshine and amongst this is a few

droplets of rains indicating that there ought to be a rainbow.

As I presumed a rainbow as I stroll out taking a view across the sky looking for one.

The rainbow, lucky enough to see one rarely viewed 

at the right time.I held my mobile along to take a snap of the view across the sky.

And not the only view of the rainbow but a view of all sides that

Show the sunshine, patches of dark clouds and the mix of all.

And there I see as if the birds strike  through the rainbow.

A sight well caught!
